Winter seasons continue to provide more challenging waves, leaning
more towards the intermediate to advanced surfer.
However the dual coastlines situated in Europe’s most southwestern
point gives us the advantage of having two sides to the coin. When
one side of the tip has big waves the other has smaller less powerful
surf in which beginners can flourish.
We have a very large variety of waves including quality reef, point,
and beach breaks!
These quality waves go unridden, day after day, sometimes you feel
as if we are the only surfers in the world.
The weather is warm with the occasional hot spell, in winter we
wear long pants and a sweatshirt or hoody in the mornings and evenings.
But during the day the weather is warm enough to get a tan!
The odd storm whips up swell for us but in general the weather is
awesome!
The town of Lagos is more sedate in the winter. The bars and restaurants
are not as full, but the charm still remains.
We do a lot of earlies and surf as long as possible, so most of
the time after a sensational feed and a few beers everyone, is crying
out for a sleep.
The water temperature varies in between 14-16 degrees, so a 3”2
or a 4”3 wetsuit will be enough.
Whether you wish to improve your, style, speed, repertoire or fitness,
the winter is the pick for surfers who wish to bring their ability
to a higher plain!
We look forward to surfing with any of you who wish to sample the
very best waves this stretch of coastline has to offer.
