
We are offering a chance to become a fully fledged surf Coach and Lifeguard!
We have a NARS Lifesaving & Surf Instructor Joint Course Starting on the 14th of January, The first part of the course is the NARS BL ;
The National Aquatic Rescue Standard Beach Lifeguard Award is an intensive six day course, comprised of 5 full days of training and one full day of examination, to gain an internationally recognised vocational qualification.

Valid for three years, the NARS BL award is specifically for providing a test of : personal fitness; practical lifeguard skills and knowledge; rescue skills ; life support and first aid .
The course is designed to run over 40 hours, plus completion of worksheets in non course time. Candidates must also be able to complete:
- A timed swim of 400 meters in 7 minutes and 30 seconds
- A 200 meter run in 40 seconds
These are pre- requisites of the course before being entered for the exam!
We use the week to train, surf and giggle so relax its not a prisoner of war camp!!
The second part of the joint course is BSA Surf Coach Level 1 starting on the 21st of January the best part of this course is we surf for three days assessing your surfing and just having some quality time free surfing on Portugals spectacular south west coast.

The BSA Level 1 Coach will demonstrate that their personal surfing ability is of an acceptable standard.
They will further demonstrate that they are competent to coach surfers (on land and in Water) from beginners to intermediate level.
Level 1 is aimed at individuals, with some experience of surfing, who are new to surf coaching and who wish to coach basic surfing techniques.
The level 1 Award is the minimum requirement for Surf Club Coaches, School Teachers and others wishing to teach the sport as BSA accredited Coaches.
Remember it's a lot warmer than the U.K. so bring your sun block!!
We will pick you up from Faro Airport, provide accommodation , a monster breakfast, and a healthy lunch, transportation and board and wetsuit if required !
The course is in two parts so if you already have one of the qualifications you can just do one and not the other. But you all should know that you need to have the NARS beach lifeguard course before you can attempt the BSA surf instructor course.
